Palm Jumeirah vs Dubai Marina for a month is a choice between a resort base and a connected one. On HotelApartments.com, Dubai Marina has more than twice the choice, 65 units in 12 buildings against 30 in 7, and every Marina unit is within a kilometre of a metro station. A two-bedroom costs far less in the Marina: a median asking price of AED 14,250 a month (18 units) against AED 26,500 on the Palm (6 units). The Palm is the quieter, resort-style option, and with the Palm Monorail suspended, leaving the island usually means a taxi.
The figures below are the median monthly asking prices of the units live on our site on 29 October 2026, with the number of units behind each one. Every unit in both areas has a 30-night minimum stay, and we show a median only where there are at least five units of that size.

Is Palm Jumeirah more expensive than Dubai Marina?
For two bedrooms, yes, by a wide margin: the Palm’s six two-bedroom units ask AED 22,000 to 29,700 a month, against a Marina median of AED 14,250. For a one-bedroom it depends on the building, and Palm studios are cheaper but smaller. The Palm’s overall median, AED 13,000, sits below the Marina’s AED 16,000 because of one Marina building.
- One bedroom: the Palm’s median is AED 14,000 (12 units, from AED 9,500 at NH Collection Dubai The Palm to AED 20,500 at Mi Leo The Palm). The Marina’s is AED 17,000 (24 units), but 8 of those are at The Address Dubai Marina Residences, at AED 30,000 to 36,300. Leave that building out and the Marina’s one-bedroom median drops to AED 12,185 (16 units).
- Studio: AED 8,625 on the Palm (10 units) against AED 10,000 in the Marina (15 units), or AED 8,900 without The Address. Palm studios are small, with a median size of 32 m² against 47 m² in the Marina, and half of them are at Dukes The Palm, at AED 6,350 to 9,250.
- Three bedrooms: the Palm has two units, at Wyndham Residences The Palm (AED 30,000) and Cheval Maison The Palm Dubai (AED 41,250). The Marina has eight, with a median of AED 27,000.
Is the Palm Monorail running?
No. On 29 October 2026, the Palm Monorail’s website said the service is “temporarily suspended until further notice due to maintenance”, and it gave no restart date. The line runs from Palm Gateway past Al Ittihad Park and Palm Jumeirah Mall to Atlantis Aquaventure. While it is closed, none of the 30 Palm units we list is within a kilometre of a working station or stop.
Getting around: metro and tram, or taxis
- Dubai Marina: all 65 units are within a kilometre of a Red Line station (Sobha Realty, DMCC or Al Fardan Exchange), 9 of them within 500 metres, and 60 are within 500 metres of a Dubai Tram stop. According to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the tram runs along Al Sufouh Road and Jumeirah Beach Road and links up with the metro.
- Palm Jumeirah: five of the seven buildings we list (23 units) are 1.5 to 2.7 km in a straight line from the Palm Jumeirah tram stop, which sits beside the monorail’s Palm Gateway station. Wyndham Residences The Palm and TH8 Vignette Collection The Palm (7 units), further out on the island, are about 5 km from the nearest tram stop, Mina Seyahi.
- Between the two: the Palm Jumeirah tram stop is about 2.1 km from the Dubai Marina tram stop, and the Palm buildings we list are 1.9 to 6.1 km from the Marina buildings in a straight line.

| Nearest tram stop | 2.3 km | 0.2 km |

| The Dubai Mall | 17.0 km | 19.1 km |
| Dubai International Airport (DXB) | 27.7 km | 29.9 km |
Distances are straight lines from each listing’s map location, using OpenStreetMap coordinates and RTA’s current station names; road routes are longer. Our guide to living in Dubai without a car counts the Palm’s monorail stations: while the service is suspended, plan on taxis.

Which has the better beach for a month?
It depends on the beach you want: Dubai Marina sits beside the long public beach at JBR, while most Palm units are near West Beach and some Palm buildings list a beach of their own. 63 of our 65 Marina units are within a kilometre of the public beach at JBR in a straight line, and 26 within 500 metres; the operator of The Beach JBR says visitors have public access. On the Palm, Dubai Municipality’s beach guidelines list West Beach among the developer-run beaches that are free and open to all: 17 of our 30 Palm units are within 500 metres of it and 23 within a kilometre, while the crescent buildings (Wyndham and TH8) are about 3 km away. Dukes The Palm (6 units) and NH Collection Dubai The Palm (3) also list public beach access, TH8 Vignette Collection The Palm (3) lists a private beach, and the other four Palm buildings list neither, so ask.
For distances from every area to the nearest public beach, see apartments near the beach in Dubai.

In the Marina, 15 units don’t state how often housekeeping comes, and five of the 21 that list pets as allowed also carry a no-pets line: confirm both before you book.

On the Palm, they range from AED 9,500 to AED 20,500. The building moves the price more than the side of the water.
Before you book a month on the Palm or in the Marina
- Ask for the total. All 30 Palm listings and 47 of the 65 Marina listings say their rates are estimates that can vary with the season, and most mention an event supplement during major events (24 on the Palm, 46 in the Marina).
- Plan the deposit. Every Palm listing states a security deposit of 10%; in the Marina, 34 of 65 do, and others give a different amount or none.
- Check the fees. Ask whether VAT and the Tourism Dirham, where it applies, are included; our hotel apartment vs serviced apartment guide explains VAT.
- Looking for a villa? Palm villas are in our villa collection, not in the figures above.
- Read the terms. Under our reservation terms, unused nights are not refunded if you leave early.
